About
HIND MACHTI
I, Hind Machti, grew up in Marrakech, a city where architecture is not just built; it is lived. From the quiet rhythm of interior courtyards to the intricate geometry of tiled surfaces, these early experiences shaped how I see space, light, and climate.
Drawn equally to art and science, I chose architecture as a discipline that bridges both. I pursued my studies at Eastern Mediterranean University, where I explored diverse cultural and architectural contexts while completing my bachelor's and master's degrees.
My academic work focused on passive and climate-responsive design, leading to a research thesis on building strategies in hot climates. This experience deepened my interest in how architecture can respond thoughtfully to its environment, both technically and experientially.
Now based in Halifax, I am continuing to evolve my practice, bringing together my international perspective, technical training, and sensitivity to place. I aim to contribute to architecture that is sustainable, contextual, and meaningful.
